Brechin Golf Course (est. 1893)

Yards: 5673 Holes: 18 Par: 69

Just off the A90 dual-carriageway, Dundee-to-Aberdeen route, Brechin golf course is an easily accessible course that's set in the splendid scenery of Angus.

The 10th to the 17th holes of this remarkable golf course are mainly the work of James Braid, although there were holes here before his modifications. It is this portion of the course that offers the most memorable golf. From here you appreciate the course's setting, looking north to the foothills of the Grampians.

The greens, again on this older section, are famous throughout the area and beyond as perhaps some of the best putting surfaces in the east of Scotland. They can be tricky to read with indiscernible bumps and hollows especially through the summer months.

With its stunning setting and testing holes, Brechin golf course is well worth a visit if you're planning a golfing break in Angus.

Brechin Golf Course Pro Tips

Brechin golf course, with its lush green fairways and superb putting surfaces, will offer you a wide variation of golfing challenges, including dog-legs, long par 3s and driveable par 4s.

But there are lots of birdie chances to be had with accurate tee shots, as the course is not overly long, and when playing holes 10 to 13, always try to finish below the hole as the greens are usually very quick.
