Caird Park Golf Course (est. 1923)
Yards: 6280 Holes: 18 Par: 72
Caird Park golf course is one of Dundee's three municipal golf courses and has long been popular with locals. The course presents a variety of challenges over an easy-walking terrain. Trees and rough grass help to tighten the course considerably, especially on the first half.
The 1st is an easy opener and sets the tone for the first six holes. As long as trees are avoided, a good start can be achieved here. The most testing stretch of the course starts at the 7th through to the 13th. The 9th is a fairly straightforward par three although missing to the right could roll out of bounds.
The 11th emerges from the trees and crosses the Ghelly Burn, a good par five that requires an attacking position for the green. The 12th is a long par three at 238 yards crossing back over the burn and probably the hardest hole on the course. Caird Park golf course finishes well and adds up to a most enjoyable round.
Caird Park golf course is a relaxed and welcoming course that is well worth a visit if you're planning a golf break in the Dundee area.
Caird Park Golf Course Pro Tips
Caird Park Golf Course is not particularly long, but use the first 6 holes wisely to build a score because holes 7 to 13 are longer and more difficult. If you do slip up, you have the chance for some birdies from holes 14 to 18. One of the lesser-known golf courses in Carnoustie Country, Caird Park still has a lot to offer the discerning golfer.
