The Glenisla golf course follows the natural flow of the terrain and there is plenty of challenge for the strongest players. The 2nd, aptly named "The Whale", can cause your game to flounder at the opening stages especially if the wind is in your face. It is a 588-yard leviathan off the back tees and each firm blow will have to negotiate well-positioned sand and deep rough on both sides of the course.
The 4th and 5th incorporate water to good effect with a carry over a small pond to an elongated green at the 4th while the par three, 5th requires a steady strike to clear the larger breadth of water ahead of the green.
The back nine of the course is dominated by one hole, "The Monster", a par five of 612 yards at its full length gently turning left. As the plantings now stand, the corner and its bunker can be flown but too greedy an angle will end in snarling rough.
The Glenisla golf course provides a great example of Scottish golfing at its best, as the well-designed course has elements that will challenge every aspect of your golfing game.
