Celebrations Continue for Royal Montrose Golf Club Bicentenary with Dinner and Dancing

03 September 2010

Royal Montrose Golf Club’s Week of Celebration of the 200th anniversary of the founding of the club reached another highpoint on Wednesday, 1 September, when Club members and invited guests, including 100 golfers from across the globe, donned their finery for a formal ball in the Town Hall.

The Bicentenary Ball, sponsored by Mike Fraser, Astute and Glenmorangie, was a great success and provided a wonderful opportunity for the 100 international golfers attending the Week of Celebration to experience a traditional Scottish night out, with toe-tapping music, highly-enjoyable dancing and delicious food.

The Week of Celebration’s key sponsor is GlaxoSmithKline, while the year-long programme of bicentenary celebrations is supported by Angus Council through Carnoustie Country, which promotes the golf courses in and around Angus.
