The Lansdowne golf course is seen as the "second" course for golfing in Blairgowrie, yet it now has the reputation of being the superior when it comes to competitions and for those seeking a demanding test of their golfing skills.

The Lansdowne course is long and tight. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th make for challenging golf early in the round, a string of long par fours where a driver is not the best choice. The back nine presents the 14th and 15th as its finest, the 14th, a par three of 211 yards. The 15th at 434 yards is probably the tightest hole on the course. It is dead straight but hemmed in with heather, scrub and tall pines. The 18th is yet another long par four, a great finishing hole with out of bounds on the right and a dip ahead of the green making it appear shorter.
