Carnoustie Country has pleasure in announcing the launch of a superb new golf opportunity – Associateship of the prestigious Carnoustie Country Overseas Members Club.
Membership of the Club confers entitlement to the following upon the holder:
Follow in the footsteps of some of the historic game of golf's past champions: Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Tommy Armour, Tom Watson, Henry Cotton and Paul Lawrie, who have all written their own chapters in the annals of these famous fairways.
The game of golf has been played in Carnoustie for well over four centuries. The first indication that the game was being played there can be found in the Parish Records of 1560 when the game of gowff was mentioned, and the game has played an important role in the area ever since.
Carnoustie's Championship course has become regarded as one of Britain's finest and most challenging courses, and one which is recognised as one of the best-conditioned courses in the UK, if not the world. Visiting golfers find a course that is difficult but still eminently playable. It is, in short, a wonderful test of golf.
Montrose Golf Course is the fifth oldest golf course in the world, and this venerable institution celebrates its bi-centenary in 2010 with series of tournaments and events. Both Monifieth and Panmure courses are recognised as superb tests of golf, and present a wonderful opportunity to experience classic Scottish links golf in the ancient heartland of the game.
Visiting Members will receive a personal welcome as honoured guests, with guidance on travel planning and itineraries within the UK.
Associateship of the Carnoustie Country Overseas Members Club is open to golfers from out-with the UK, and the annual fee in 2009 is $3888.00 (US)
