Great links between Scotland and China
The County of Angus, of which Carnoustie is at the heart, was twinned with the city-region of Yantai in 1999 and as this relationship has developed, further connections between the two areas were made which led to the signing, in 2002, of a Sister Links Agreement between Carnoustie Golf Links and Tiger Beach Golf Links.
Tiger Beach, which is owned by Beta Soong, who also owns Shanghai Silport Golf Club, venue for the 2007 Volvo China Open, was even designed with assistance from Carnoustie’s Head Greenkeeper, John Philp.
