Welcome to The Open at Carnoustie
In 2018, The 147th Open is returning to the Carnoustie Country area, with the best golfers in the world descending to take on the iconic Championship course at Carnoustie Golf Links. Golf has been played in Carnoustie Country for over 450 years, establishing a reputation as a world class golfing destination.
The Open doesn’t get any more exciting than when it’s played at Carnoustie. The bristling Angus coastline provides a testing breeze while the narrow 7,421-yard long course is guarded by perfectly placed hazards, ready to pounce on anything less than a great shot.
Previous Championships at Carnoustie have never been short of drama. In 1975, Carnoustie was host when Tom Watson began his major trophy collection, winning the Claret Jug for the first time. In 1999, Jean Van de Velde was the story for all the wrong reasons as he became victim to perhaps the biggest collapse in golfing history!
The drama is set to continue at this year’s 147th Open. To be there and see it unfold, book your tickets now.
The excitement doesn’t end on the golf course. There are lots of things to see and do when visiting Carnoustie and the surrounding area. So stay a little longer and book your accommodation for 15 – 22 July 2018 for The 147th Open at Carnoustie.
